I've always been curious about what makes people connect with an idea. That curiosity led me to a career in marketing and graphic design, where I've spent more than a decade helping organizations communicate with clarity and purpose.

Along the way, personal experiences inspired me to become an advocate, reminding me that the most meaningful work often happens when creativity is paired with compassion.

Hi, I’m Katelyn Masters.

My career

Over the past 13 years, I've built a career around strategic communication, thoughtful design, and purposeful marketing. My experience spans healthcare, consumer products, small business, nonprofit advocacy, and public affairs, giving me the opportunity to work with audiences ranging from state agencies and healthcare leaders to retailers, legislators, and families.

Throughout my career, I've helped organizations communicate with clarity and confidence through:

  • integrated marketing campaigns

  • brand identities

  • websites

  • digital content

  • executive communications

  • social media strategies

  • visual storytelling

Outside of my professional role, I've continued to pursue projects that reflect my passion for community and entrepreneurship. I created Millerie as a platform to share my love of traditional cooking and freshly milled grains through thoughtful branding and digital storytelling. I founded The PANS Parent to educate families, build community, and advocate for meaningful policy change across West Virginia, helping advance legislation to improve provider education.

Earlier in my career, I also supported communications and grassroots initiatives with the West Virginia Citizens Defense League, where I gained firsthand experience in public affairs, advocacy, and member engagement. Together, these experiences have shaped my belief that the most effective communication isn't just creative, it's purposeful, collaborative, and capable of making a lasting impact.

Beyond the desk

Home has always been at the center of my story. After growing up in West Virginia's Eastern Panhandle and living in several corners of the state, my family returned home in 2020 to settle into an antique farmhouse and a slower pace of life. Today, my husband, Delegate Ian Masters, and I are raising our four children surrounded by gardens, animals, and more than a little everyday chaos.

Much of what inspires my work also inspires my life. I have a love for timeless interiors, historic homes, and the beauty of things made to last. That appreciation naturally extends to traditional cooking, freshly milled grains, and creating a home where family gathers around the table.

Alongside those passions, my daughter's diagnosis of Down syndrome, and later PANS, led me into advocacy work that has become one of the most meaningful chapters of my life, reminding me daily that thoughtful communication, compassion, and perseverance can make a real difference.
